This evening class is aimed at those with some experience in working with clay. 1 term of hand building at least. You will be guided by Nikki to make your own outcomes, learning new techniques to implement in your work.
Term 2 Thursday Evening
Your tutor will discuss your ideas with you prior to the start of the course. There will be some restrictions over scale of pieces due to kiln firing schedules.
You will have four Wks making and 2 Wks glazing. 6wks overall. Check the dates below and make sure that you can attend most of these before making a booking.
Additional Charges
Your fee does not include any clay, glazes or firings. You will be charged individually for firings and glazes according to the scale of your pieces and those colours on offer. You should seek advice from Nikki if you wish to provide any of your own materials to ensure that they are suitable for your desired outcome and fit with mid fire stoneware firing temperatures 1220 - 1240 degrees (cone 6).
$15 per 2kg - Primo WMS 2502, Primo PW20, BRT
$20 per 2kg - Keanes Black

Venue: E5 Art and Clay, 180 Avonside Drive, (Climate Action Campus), CHCH. We will send you details of how to find us 1 week prior to the start of your first class.
Dates: 1/8/15 of May (make). No class 22/5 (fire work). Resume classes 29/May (glaze) 5 June (make). Final class 12 June (glaze). Collect work and celebrate 19 June
Time: 6 - 8:00pm. If you finish your work you can leave before.
Cost: $210. This fee does not include clay, firings and glazes (see info above)
What to bring: A cloth apron if you have one and a closed drink bottle if you are likely to get thirsty

Your course fee includes tutor guidance and use of a range of pottery tools See above description for other items included (clay, glazes and firings). Please bring a cloth apron and a closed drink bottle to keep hydrated during the class.
Take home your creation
At the end of the course we take a couple of weeks to fire all of your work carefully in our kiln. After the kiln goddess has done her work we then invite you to collect your unique pottery creations and celebrate!
