Kids Christmas Clay Classes Christchurch | Tues T4 2026
Small classes, big imaginations, and plenty of muddy hands!
Our Term 4 After School Pottery Classes are all about getting creative with clay and making something special for Christmas.
Held on Tuesdays at Climate Action Campus, children will explore hand-building techniques while making Christmas-themed gifts and decorations for the home. They might make something to give to someone special, create a festive decoration, or make something they’d love to keep for themselves.
Our classes share the campus values of sustainability, creativity and community—encouraging children to make thoughtfully while learning new ceramic skills in a relaxed, supportive space.
No previous pottery experience is needed—all abilities are welcome.
How It Works
We run sessions in 3-week blocks
-
Weeks 1 & 2: Make your own Christmas-themed projects using hand-building techniques.
-
Week 3: Glaze (colour) your fired work before its final kiln firing.
Each block will have ideas and inspiration to get them started, with plenty of room for their own creative ideas.
Term 4 Session Dates
Block 1 – 13, 20 and 27 Oct
Block 2 – 3, 10 and 17 Nov
Block 3 – 24 Nov, 1 and 8 Dec
Please note: Classes finish on Tuesday 8 Dec. We will let you know when pieces are fired and ready to collect from CAC.
