Looking for the perfect home for your kitchen utensils, favourite herbs or toothbrushes? Create a beautiful hand-built cylinder pot that’s as practical as it is stylish.
Workshop Description
In this workshop, you’ll create your own hand-built cylinder pot—perfect as a herb planter, utensil or toothbrush holder, or simple statement piece for your home. Using slab-building techniques, you’ll form, join, and refine your pot, learning how to create a strong cylindrical shape.
You’ll then have the option to add carved or textured detail to personalise your piece. After firing, your work will be finished in a glossy white glaze, with carved areas highlighted using wax resist to reveal the warm, toasty clay body beneath.
No previous experience is necessary. Once your item is dry and fully fired, you’ll be notified when it’s ready to collect.
NB: Images shown are previous students’ interpretations. Your tutor may guide you in a slightly different direction depending on the clay and glaze options available on the day.
