Make Your Own Special Plate (for Cheese, Cake, or Toast!) Who doesn’t love a beautiful plate for their favourite treats? Whether it’s a cheese platter with pickles, a slice of cake, or even toast, this hands-on workshop lets you create your own special plate and matching small dishes—out of clay! No experience is needed. Bring your curiosity, your creativity, and maybe a friend or family member to share the fun. All materials and firing are included, and you’ll be notified when your creations are ready to take home.
Workshop description
In this workshop, you’ll learn the simple slabbing technique to hand-build your platter and small dishes. After firing, your work will be finished with a glossy white glaze. Wax resist will be applied to highlight the warm, natural colour of the clay, making your plate perfect for showing off all your favourite snacks and treats.
Note: Images shown are from previous students. Your tutor may guide you in a slightly different direction depending on clay and glaze availability.
